Introducing ourselves!
| Youth Column: “Lover Of Our Soul” (Helping you find solutions & answers for your innermost queries) August 2007/ Bareilly, U.P. Hi Folks! We are Charles & Salome, ministering in a District called “Bareilly”, 250 kilometers East of New Delhi, our national capital and 250 kilometers West from Lucknow, capital of “Uttar Pradesh”. Charles has grown up in the same place but Salome comes from Delhi. The LORD saved us when we were quite young, filled us with His vision for the lost & troubled, and called us for God’s Kingdom – with a special burden for the youth and the couples (families). Charles has been serving the LORD now for more than 12 years & we together as a couple for more than 4 years. We have 15 months baby boy, John, we call him “Joe”. We ourselves have been through the various stages & phases of an adolescent1, youth & a family. And have found God helping us through all ups & downs bringing us to the point where we can share a lot of His plans for each individual & family! We are no different than you but something has made our lifestyle & perspective different – the same we want to share with our young friends! As we celebrate the 60th year of our Nation’s freedom, we want to bring you a word of true freedom- “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”, John 8:32. Below is some truth for you! Did you know that our God is concerned not only for our spiritual life but for the totality of the human being, i.e. the body, the soul/emotions/mind, & the spirit? (1Thessalonians 5:23) Do you know that there is not a single issue which Bible does not deal with and not a single question/problem for which Bible does not provide any answer/ solution? There are several specific issues/problems which the youth & the couples face regularly in their lives and yet they are labeled as “Taboos2” and thus neglected & ignored by the Christian world- including own parents & pastors. Then in that case; Where do you turn to find solutions:- 1. To Family &/ or Friends? 2. To Print &/ or Electronic Media? 3. To be quiet & sit back attitude; i.e. the issues are still bothering you up as you have embedded3 them yet in your mind & thoughts? Could you really feel rightly helped with the above measures? Or The things have become worse & messy, leaving you as the most ‘miserable person’ on the earth? Dear friend are you one of them? You have been asking yourself: “can I really have my voice heard & my heart finds rest anyway?” You are so much confused & thinking “IT’S BETTER TO DIE”? Please take some time beloved friend & consider as we prayerfully share! Do you think our heavenly DAD (God) & the Bible hold silence, leaving you hopeless? Is this the Father’s design for you to “die” unnaturally? Is there no answer to your problems/questions? No friend; the Bible does have a lot to rejuvenate4 your lives, to provide solution to your quests & add sparks to your youth/family – even beyond your imagination! The Bible does command to provide hope through answers to every question, 1Peter 3:15; and solution to every burden, Matthew 11:28-30. The Bible in fact encourages for healthy counseling and invites to the source of solutions & answers during your young age only so that you don’t go depressed resulting in death- murder &/or suicide, Isaiah 45:21 & Ecclesiastes 12:1. The LORD having brought us through, have called to minister to young hearts specially. We do not guarantee to satisfy you but assure you to provide you Godly guidance & practical/logical help based on Biblical truths and prayers for you with guaranteed assurance of maintaining confidentiality of the things you share with us (including your name, identity & address). We do respect your sentiments & honor your trust and confidence placed in us. We want to extend you our loving hand of trusted friendship as your loving brother & sister in Christ. Look forward to get familiar with you & hear from you. Lots of warm love & blessings, Yours loving, Charles & Salome Jacob (Thursday, 9th August 2007; Bareilly; 2:30 p.m. onwards) Few difficult words simplified: 1. Adolescent: between childhood and adulthood. 2. Taboos: words/ issues avoided or prohibited, esp. by social custom 3. Embedded: Hidden 4. Rejuvenate: make young again. Rekindle. Label again or differently. |

Valentine Special, Feb 08

Volume Two (2)
(Helping you find solutions & answers for your innermost queries)
Frequently Asked Questions
A Call from a boy, yesterday:
“She said don’t call me again, I don’t love you… we had been in love for about 3yrs now… she is in love with some other guy. If she does not marry me, I would not marry any one else… if she does not love me has she been just fooling me for so long...?”
Some other similar questions: Is my love true? How can I know whether he/she really loves me?
Is it possible to determine if he would continue to love me and would not ditch me in the future…? He asks me to have sex to prove our love….. (We are covering it more detailed in our next issue)
How is love & Valentine’s Day associated to one another?
Love knows no time, people & place bounds – it lasts as long as the breath lasts. “Love is long suffering, kind, all bearing, enduring, and truth loving; without envy, self pride & evil;
& love never fails...” (Bible)
Hi Friends!
Our warm love & prayers are offered for you!
We are not sure how your day had been, yet we would like to invite you to reflect upon it!!
As we are into the youth & family counseling & teaching, we could write tons on it and also because LOVE is a vast subject.
Yet in this issue we would like to leave you just with a small measuring device to know how real your “love” is/has been. Though the love is in the air yet most of the cases we deal are unfortunately sad and tragic when it comes to love!
It is very difficult to say how closely the so called “Valentine’s Day” is associated to love & such celebration. All the stories behind are so murky/ dark and unclear so is hard to say much FOR it. They are all called “tales” not historical facts…
We would love to see that each day of your life becomes a celebration of “true love”. Not just confined to a day or limited period! Want it for one day or each day of your life - decision is completely yours. Though we would like to highlight few reasons behind the same in this issue:
“….Later, during the Middle Ages, it was commonly believed in France and England that February 14 was the beginning of birds' mating season, which added to the idea that the middle of February -- Valentine's Day -- should be a day for romance….” {The History Channel (History.com)}
“…The popular customs associated with Saint Valentine's Day undoubtedly had their origin in a conventional belief generally received in England and France during the Middle Ages, that on 14 February, i.e. half way through the second month of the year, the birds began to pair. Thus in Chaucer's Parliament of Foules we read:
For this was sent on Seynt Valentyne's day Whan every foul cometh there to choose his mate.
For this reason the day was looked upon as specially consecrated to lovers and as a proper occasion for writing love letters and sending lovers' tokens...” (The Catholic Encyclopedia, Volume XV.)
Now basing it upon the above reasons what do you think, should this celebration be for married couples or for the unmarried too? Should love be for a season or till breath….? To us it sounds just physical & sensual (sexual) nothing of caring love…..! Temporal as long as the gratification/ self satisfaction is achieved! We don’t argue… the views might differ… anyway…. Just go through a small test below….
Love and Lust (untrue love) Test
No. Love Lust (untrue love 1. Is Care & Concern, 1 Peter 5:7; Understanding: God does understand us!
